Thanks for stopping by. I’m a Software Product Analyst by profession, a very good cook and occasionally I write spoken word poetry .
I thought about it long and hard why I wanted to write about all 3 things on my website. It didn’t sound like a good idea at the beginning because it mixed up the identity of the website and the kind of message I wanted to send to my audiences. Posting about Product Development is more like work, while Food and Poetry is more like hobbies. But then, after all, it’s still one of me. I love my work and what I’ve learnt from it as much as cooking a good meal or writing up a poem that people can relate to.
I love Product Development for many reasons. It’s exciting, it’s fascinating and who doesn’t love technology?! I’ve been working in IT for over 10 years now, and it’s amazing how things have changed over the last decade. I still remember the day when I could save my entire code for a little program I made on a floppy disk! If you don’t know what a floppy disk is, it’s too late to Google now! These days, I spend most of my time solving big serious problems like replacing spreadsheets in big banks across the world with a much better solution or trying different ways to build better softwares to make people’s life easier. You will find lots of stuff on my website to help with this. They could be stuff I write up based on my own research or my work. They could be interviews I have with people I’ve met. Some of the articles I post here are archived from other places so I don’t have to search for them every time I need to revisit. Everyone has something you can learn from. Overall, it will give you an idea of what kind of Product Analyst I am.
What about other stuff? When I come home, cooking a good meal is a way to zone out, to focus on something else and to make something with my hands. It’s important and it’s fun to make things with your hands. It’s a perfect way to connect your body with your mind, to experiment and try out new things. It’s similar to building products, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t and you will need to adjust and change things around to make it suit your purpose or your taste. Every now and then I would write a poem. Writing poetry is a lot harder than cooking dinner. I normally pick up ideas when I look at things in different ways and sometimes different perspectives collide and give me something to write about. Every poem is a story with another story behind it. It gives me the opportunity to look at things at a deeper level and from many different angles.
There you go, that’s what this is about. I hope you will have a good time browsing through my thoughts. Feel free to say hello if you like. I promise I’ll be very nice :).
